Patrícia Beták
Co-President
Translator and conference interpreter (FR, ES, HU), with an MA in French language and literature with teacher qualification.
A freelancer since 2005, Patrícia started teaching at the BUTE Centre for Interpreter and Translator Training in 2010, where she was the head of the full-time programme between 2014 and 2016. In 2020, she obtained a PhD in French literature (Eötvös Loránd University, Université Savoie Mont Blanc).
One of the creators and founders of SZOFT, her main responsibilities in the association are strategic planning, communication, nurturing talent, supporting fresh graduates, and promoting the social responsibility activities of interpreters and translators through the pro bono section of SZOFT’s social responsibility project group.
Julianna Zsinka
Co-President
Translator, her working languages are English and French. After graduating from the Faculty of Humanities at the Eötvös Loránd University as a translator and interpreter in 2015, Julianna worked for a short period as a project manager at a translation agency. A freelancer since 2016, she mostly works on legal and EU-related texts.
Her main responsibilities in the association are market relations, communications and event organization.
Zoltán Papp
Member of the Board
After obtaining a degree in French language and literature, he received an MA in European Studies in France in 2009. Zoltán worked in various project management positions at international IT companies for 7 years. He started working as a part-time interpreter and translator in 2010, then switched to full-time in 2018. In 2016 he graduated from the BUTE Centre for Interpreter and Translator Training.
In SZOFT he is involved in the operative and technology-related tasks of the board.
Csaba Csurja
Member of the Board
Csaba started working as a part-time English<>Hungarian translator in the field of business and finance in 2017, then switched to full time in 2019. He received a degree in finance and later a chartered accountant qualification at the Faculty of Finance and Accountancy at Budapest Business School. Now a freelancer, he worked as a financial and IT project manager at multinational companies for 8 years. He received his translator certification at the Department of Translation and Interpreting at Eötvös Loránd University in 2019, and a degree in literary translation at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in 2020.
He is in charge of the association’s finances and of the pro bono working group.
Mónika Kovács-Erényi
Member of the Board
Translator, specialised literary and audiovisual translator and reviewer, her working languages are English and German. She graduated as a translator and interpreter at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in 2016. After graduation she worked for 18 months as a freelance translator and taught translation to English majors at Pázmány University. Later she worked at a translation agency as a business development associate. In January 2020 she returned to freelancing, she mostly works on marketing/creative and IT texts.
In the association, she is in charge of project groups.
